Microsoft giving away free development tools for students

Microsoft has launched a new campaign called DreamSpark which provides the development tools from Microsoft free of cost to inspiring students.

The development tools include :

Visual Studio 2005 and 2008 Professional Edition
XNA Game Studio 2.0
Microsoft designer tools such as Expression Studio
Microsoft platform resources such as
SQL Server 2005 and 2008 Developer Edition
Windows Server 2003 and 2008 Standard Edition
Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition
Virtual PC 2007

The student has to show his identity card from an educational insitute and has to agree that it won't be used for commercial purposes.

While this is just a trick to get developers use thier own platform, this initiative is quite good too from Microsoft's part.
