Good review on Freelander

By Praveen Edburg | Sunday, November 30, 2008

As I was just browsing through the web looking for information about cars and stuffs, I came across this website called channel4 which had a very good review on one of my most favorite cars- the Land Rover Freelander 2. No matter how many times I read about these cars, I just don’t seem to get enough of them.

The website itself had a really great categorization like the review that I just happened to read had the review focused on various categories like an overview of the car, the reliability and quality, on road manners, safety, the costs involved in running the vehicle, comfort, the value of the car in the used car market and the different variants of the vehicle. As usual I just loved my favorite car although it had a few short comings. The things I liked about the car were their roomy size, off-roading capability and the equipment levels offered.

The summary of the car was very well written for the people who don’t like reading too many pages. It had the price, assets, drawbacks and verdict to make a good and short overview of the car. The image gallery and videos was pretty useful to check out the car inside out. The used car sales ads beside the review can also be quite helpful.

Replacement for my DVD player

By Praveen Edburg | Sunday, November 30, 2008

So far, my DVD player was the only companion for my TV and now I have decided that I have had enough of it. Not only is it so old generation, I have come to expect more from such a device.

The first thing i was looking to get was a HTPC (Home theater PC) to achieve anything that one could possibly imagine. I could game on it, browse the web, literally play all the movie formats and resolutions, can manage storing or playback of TV channels through a TV tuner and what not. But the only thing is that it will cost much more and I haven't yet used such a thing anywhere and so not sure how would it all turn out to be.

Then thought about the WD media player which can play movies upto 1080p from any external hard disk or any flash drive. It was costing a little more than $100 and can play many file formats. But I was still not convinced.

The stand-alone blu-ray players are very expensive and so a playstation 3 would suit my needs much better as it has Wi-fi, networking support, gaming, blu-ray player and the typical movie playing, etc.

So far my mind is on HTPC or the PS3. Will decide this weekend about which one i am going to purchase.

Digital scales

By Praveen Edburg | Saturday, November 29, 2008

There is always something lacking in a house and in my home, we recently found that we were lacking any scale for measure weights. On our shopping to buy some digital scale, we found this website called scalesetc.com which contains a great collection of digital scales ranging from pocket ones, bathroom and kitchen ones and even those used in shipping. There are various products made specifically to measure a particular kind of item and these can measure weights ranging from fractions of a gram to hundreds of pounds.

There were several new products which were both attractive with a nice form factor and were priced reasonably as well. They had a list of top 10 best selling scales. It seems buyers have preferred the ultra sport 30 digital fish scale as it tops the best selling items. It seems to be a fun thing to weigh the fishes that one had caught. I am keeping this for consideration too when I plan to go fishing some day.

Time for a new mobile phone

By Praveen Edburg | Saturday, November 29, 2008

Its been around 2 years since I bought my first mobile phone. It was a Nokia 6233. I simply loved my mobile phone and even now I am fond of it.

The phone had been very reliable and filled with lots of features. It has 3G, stereo speakers, great screen, amazing battery life, comfy keypad and several other ones too. These were the features that I had loved with the phone and these made it stand tall among its competitors.

However, the I think I have started to get the desire to upgrade the phone as most of friends have got new and better ones. I somehow miss my good old mobile phone.

I have had some minor problems with the phone as one of the speakers sometimes doesnt work at times. The music player it had was pretty basic and there was no video forwarding option.

I havent yet decided which phone to buy now, but I am pretty sure that I will replace the trusty old mobile very soon.

Lovely frames and eyeglasses

By Praveen Edburg | Saturday, November 29, 2008

I have been wearing spectacles for the past decade or so and I felt tired of my same old boring look and hence decided to get a different look. Obviously the easiest way to change my looks is to change my ugly old glass frame which has been my trademark for the past several years.

I found a great collection of frames and eyeglasses in The popular online eyeglasses shop called Zenni optical. I was impressed with the amazing collection of Holiday Glass Frames From Zenni Optical. Most of them were priced between $10 to $20 which I feel that is a great price. The one which I felt that it would suit to my taste was the medium size translucent plastic half-rim frame. It was available in frame color choices of Brown, Black, Red/Clear and Clear/White. It was also priced at a very reasonable $12.95.

I am pretty satisfied with my purchase and the next time I shop, I am thinking of having a serious consideration on the $ 8 Complete Rx Eyeglasses. It has anti-scratch coating, full UV protection and several other features.

Continuous 4 days power cut

By Praveen Edburg | Saturday, November 29, 2008

With the electricity board cutting the power from localities vulnerable to water logging and to avoid any possible accidents, due to the recent rains, there has been no power for the past 4 days.

And with water logged in the streets even now, there is very little chances of getting back the power in the recent future.

The corporation has informed that there has been a drainage block and that it has to be first cleared to facilitate the water draining from the roads.

Things are all gloomy in my residence after I couldn't go outside for the past few days and without electricity all my time pass devices couldn't be accesses making my situation a bitter one.

Just hoping that the condition clears very soon.

The Nouveau Riche

By Praveen Edburg | Friday, November 28, 2008

There are people who work hard every day and yet struggle to survive in a good financial position. I guess these kinds of people just live their day to day routine work and don’t try to investigate new opportunities and try to move ahead in life. And then there are the people from a lower socioeconomic rank who have acquired considerable wealth within his generation due to their entrepreneurial ideas and business ideas. These people known as Nouveau Riche (new rich) have always fascinated me much.

I found a long list of all such Nouveau Riche and how they attained such a high position in their life. It also has their country and revenue. The one among that which particularly fascinated me was the story of Bill Gates who was the CEO of Microsoft Corporation and was the world’s richest man as of now. I liked him as being a dropout from Harvard, he successfully started a company along with his friend.

There are several other interesting stories of these Nouveau Riche as well. Most of them will be very interesting to hear and can put some confidence and sense of achievement in the reader’s mind. They have the capability to inspire the reader and give him self-belief that a single individual can take part in a major role.

Bomb attacks lead to cancelled sporting events.

By Praveen Edburg | Friday, November 28, 2008

The recent bomb attacks have caused some trouble in the sporting events to have been held in the country too.

The currently ongoing ODI series between India and England has been canceled and the English team is all set to return to their own country this saturday. The test series is expected to go on as expected with the change in venue from Mumbai to Chennai for the second test. But things can go properly only when the security situation is totally convincing.

Then the challenger series trophy that was scheduled to be conducted next month has been postponed indefinitely. It is expected to resume sometime in the beginning of next year.

The recent Mumbai bomb blast has resulted in deaths of more than 100 and about 250 injured. The blasts and hostage situations were also in the prime locations of the city.

Rains continue for the 3rd day

By Praveen Edburg | Friday, November 28, 2008

The rains have been pouring continuously for the past 3 days in Chennai and hence the already waterlogged roads have literally become like pools all over the place.

The past week itself has been a wet one and the condition has only worsened since. The rains have caused major transport problems and I dont think that any vehicle can pass through the city roads without getting into water problems. Even the buses and other major means of transport have stopped functioning their normal operations. The schools and colleges have been declared as holidays for the 3rd straight day.

Although the intensity of the rains have lessened owing to the cyclone having crossed the land, the water that has logged doesn't seem to be draining away that easy. The dams have been filled upto their maximum capacity and some are even opened to drain off the excess water.

I guess the situation will continue for the next couple of days as well even if there are no more rains.

A memorable watch

By Praveen Edburg | Friday, November 28, 2008

As I had mentioned in my previous post, I had decided that my most memorable and valuable present this Christmas will be a watch. Although I don’t actually need a new watch right now, I was tempted by the great collection of Watches over at the site stylehive. As usual the site had highly fashionable items for sale over there and the watches also were also good looking and stylish.

There are really unique and unconventional designs of watches and I my eye were all over some of them. There was a particular one with thin and flexible strap and touch buttons. I was drooling all over it. Though they looked great and I was impressed by them, I don’t think that they will be suitable for my kind of needs as I feel that I am inclined more towards a business guy type and not one of those party goers. And these unique were also considerably expensive than the other conventional designs.

So unwillingly I had to choose a conventional design for my official work place. These traditional designs were not bad after all. They too had a touch of style in them but no way even close to what the other unconventional ones had. But I had to choose one which suite more to my taste and not just on look alone. And so I finally ended up buying one of the common designs and just hope that it turns out to be a really memorable one.

The search for my Christmas gift

By Praveen Edburg | Friday, November 28, 2008

My Christmas shopping continued even today and I wanted to buy something really good and valuable. But I was not sure of what to buy or what will be perfect for the occasion. And being one of the first things that I am going to buy from my own wallet, I was even more eager and wanted it to be a valuable one. So I started by just searching for Christmas in the site stylehive.

I was thrown a bunch of results related to the Christmas tag. The results were from a wide variety of categories. As I had just recently purchased some dresses I was not keen on buying some more clothes. I was looking for something good looking and memorable and of course that which corresponds to the occasion. I saw the glass raindrops on sale for $15. There was some good stuff on kids’ products and those which can be hung on a Christmas tree. I was not keen on buying them right now. I then saw some men's watches and decided that it will be one of the serious contenders for the one special purchase which I am going to purchase for myself for my Christmas present. I hope that it will be a memorable one as it is one of my first ever purchased products from my own earnings.

Gift baskets for the foodies

By Praveen Edburg | Friday, November 28, 2008

I have a few of my friends who would give up anything just for a couple of delicious food stuffs. So I thought of giving them a nice Christmas gift which is related to their liking from the food products. Then from the last online shopping that I did, stylehive, I started to look for some good products related to food.

As I searched the site, I found this Gourmet gift baskets which had been made exclusively for those people who love to eat. There were some great gourmet food gifts for the holiday season and some mouth watering sets of truffles and chocolates. There was some great collection of gift baskets and I just loved the way they were shown. They were not only sweet on the tongue but also great looking. There was a great slideshow that can tempt even the people who don’t like these kinds of sweet foods. I especially liked the chocolate one and looking to buy that.

The price of all the products was reasonable as well with some $30 food item just hitting the sweet spot of what I could pay for those. I think I will have a taste of the items as well as I don’t think I can resist from giving them all to my friends.

Excited for Black Friday deals

By Praveen Edburg | Friday, November 28, 2008

I am so excited and eager to look forward for the black Friday deals that will be available soon enough.

This is the first time I have started to earn myself during a black friday and I would love to purchase anything from my own wallet.

The things that I am looking forward to buy are a nice digital camera, a good set of earphones, some Flash drive or external hard disk drive and any other good deals that I come across.

Initially I wanted to buy some gaming console like PS3 or Xbox 360 and a full HD >46" television but I had a serious short coming on the budget and had to settle for less expensive ones.

I want to buy some thing valuable for my family members too as this is my first spending out of my own wallet. But I haven't been able to decide what to buy for them.

Also I am looking to use my just received credit card although i had previously decided not to use it unless there is an emergency.

Legal assistance

By Praveen Edburg | Thursday, November 27, 2008

For those suffering from creditors and need a low cost solution for that, I think I just found something really good. A site named http://personalcreditbailout.com/ helps one to do just that.

Currently there are plenty of people with a real financial crisis and are desperate to get over their problems and from those nasty creditors. But most of them don’t have the resources or cannot afford to retain an attorney. Now that’s where the site helps people in an alternate to high priced attorneys. They ask for a onetime fee of $49.95 and offer unlimited legal assistance thereafter. With that money, they pay the highly priced attorneys to work for those who paid. Using this service, one can enforce his rights towards the creditors and put the power of a law firm’s knowledge on his side.

I feel that this service is much better that those who offer to provide loans or debt consolidation or credit counseling or credit repair. This is a real solution for financial crisis as one can avail of the services of an attorney for a price of $49.95 and avoid paying thousands of dollars for them.

Safety devices for the elderly

By Praveen Edburg | Thursday, November 27, 2008

Brickhouse alert creates products and devices that help people during emergency situations. The products are particularly useful for aging people like grandparents.

I have always been concerned about my grandparents especially when they are alone and this is no one near to help them. What if they fall down and get hurt or go outside somewhere and get lost. These kinds of situations may happen to anyone and with today’s technological advancements, it is possible to detect such happenings and raise a Medical Alarm if necessary. This will give the aging people their own independence and yet a safety device just in case of something goes wrong.

One such product created by Brickhouse alert is a fall alert detector that can detects when a personnel falls down and can alert the possible ones. This device does not require any sort of interaction and no need to press any kind of buttons too. Although such a situation seems unlikely with younger generation, it can be tremendously useful for old people.

Another such device is a GPS tracking bracelet. Using this, the wearer can be easily found by tracking his position with the GPS and additionally there is also a 2 way speaker phone which can be used similar to a mobile phone and can be used to call for help.

Test drove the Yamaha YZ-16

By Praveen Edburg | Thursday, November 27, 2008

I recently had a chance to test drive the new launched motorbike YZ-16 that was launched by Yamaha.

My friend wanted to buy the bike because of its masculine looks and so I went along with him to the showroom to see the bike in flesh. The showroom guys were as usual not interested in making any sales and we had to pester them to know the details about the bike.

Unfortunately we were allowed to test drive only in the showroom parking lot which was only a meters. But still I test drove it in the lower RPM range and found it to be a torquey engine which loves to be reved up. The gear shifts were precise and the engine was smooth. I loved the exhaust note of the engine when reved up. I couldn’t test the handling as I couldn’t go fast in that tiny space. But it should be good as it had mono suspension, very wide rear tyres and great chassis. The seating position was comfortable and doesn’t require the biker to lean down as I thought to be.

The styling was very attractive as well. But I didn’t like the headlights at certain angles and the instrument cluster also. It also felt very short in length and height.

On the negative side, when sat on, the bike didn’t give that big bike feel. It felt small and short. I felt the similar way with TVS Apache as well. It may be due to the fact that I use Hero Honda Hunk and Karizma which are way bigger and taller as well. The fuel efficiency was expected to be around 40 kmpl. It was also expensive than other 150 cc bikes.

Overall I felt the bike was great street bike with good handling and excellent performance combined with good comfort as well. But definitely not for those who care about fuel costs and want a big bike feeling as I felt.

Web site design solutions

By Praveen Edburg | Thursday, November 27, 2008

I have written about web hosting and the woes that I faced in the process of creating my own website. Now after all those hosting and domain were taken care of, it was time to create the website design and contents. The contents to be displayed in the site are no big deal as I can write them pretty easily. The problem that I faced was with the design of the site. I tried a template and modified it but the end result was damn ugly. So I decided to use some help with the design.

It was then that I found this site named heritagewebdesign.com and called Heritage Web Solutions where they provide website designing works for a reasonable amount. The site claimed to do full custom work done by their in-house website designers at prices starting at $199. The thing that I was impressed was that they claimed to use a full custom design for the website and not just using or modifying a template. I liked this as some of the websites have the same look due to have been copied from a template and I wanted an original and one-of-a-kind design.

They have some useful tips to consider when building a website and they can be contacted at 866-211-0743. The heritage web solutions have featured in the top 25 of the Inc 500 list and they have been ranked in the top 1% of the hosting companies and so I was assured of the quality of the work that they will provide.

There were various sample designs shown in the website. There were also various website design contents such as ecommerce, database and forms, flash intros and sites for professional and personal designs. I especially liked the various flash intros and a lot of the designs were to my liking. I liked a lot of the designs and looking to purchase one for my site as well.

Bomb blasts rock Mumbai

By Praveen Edburg | Thursday, November 27, 2008

There has been a major bomb blast in Mumbai recently. So far about 80 people have been reported dead in this incident.

The bombs were blasted near the major star hotels over there. A terrorist organization has been suspected with the blast cases.

Its been a routine with various bomb blasts in India in the past few months. There has been continuous bomb blasts at various locations in the country. I wonder what actions has the government taken about these blasts. There doesn't seem to be any actions taken so far as these kind of blasts are going on as usual in various cities.

Air mattress buying guides

By Praveen Edburg | Thursday, November 27, 2008

I have been seeing a lot of buying guides recently and now it is the turn of buying an air mattress. At first I wondered that what can big fuss about buying just an air mattress as most of the people just go in to any shop and buy the first thing that they see without any considerations. But after I saw the site and its recommendations, I think it is well worth it.

The site named as airmattressinfo.com has quite a few topics dedicated to the guide on buying an air mattress such as an inflatable queen bed. The site has a few reviews and quick looks on some of the type of air bed mattress. It also has a few useful things like the price list of the air mattress and air pumps. It has some info on travel pillows and bed sheets as well.

These air mattresses can be required at many situations such as a vacation, in a hostel and for some surprise large number of guests. And so these guides and advices can be read to buy the proper air mattress as required for the situation.

Heavy rains lash Chennai

By Praveen Edburg | Thursday, November 27, 2008

For the past two days, heavy rains have lashed throughout the southern Indian region. Particularly Chennai and its surroundings have been majorly affected by these rains.

The rains which were due to a low pressure cyclone forming in the bay of Bengal started about 2 days ago. From then on it doesn't seem to have taken a break. It has been raining cats and dogs throughout the past 2 days.

As usual the roads have been flooded and vehicle movement has taken a major hit. Even some of the trains and planes have been canceled due to this unprecedented rains.

Over at my neighborhood, the rains have left a hue pool of water that doesn't seem to drain off. I dont think anyone can take a vehicle anywhere out in Chennai without damaging their vehicles.

And due to the cyclone, strong winds have been blowing too and a couple of trees also have been uprooted causing further hindrance in traffic movement.

Following this, all the schools and colleges have been declared a holiday for the past two days and its looks to be the same case tomorrow also if things dont improve.

As of now there is no signs of any improvement in the weather and looks like the rains will continue for some more time.

Fashionable fleeces

By Praveen Edburg | Wednesday, November 26, 2008

I have always liked fashionable clothes and love to wear them or see others wearing them. Recently one of my friends was on a hunt for some really good fashionable clothes for her, we decided to do some searching and started to see the various ones which were available. When we came across the site called stylehive, there were some really good fleeces for sale over there.

Both I and my friend were really impressed with the various kinds of fleece that were available. The way those were portrayed with great pictures of several models was indeed lovely. They were really good and she wanted to have some of them as soon as possible. The entire site had contents related to fashionable items only and they were all very good. The prices they were selling at were also very reasonable.

I liked the way the site was designed as well. It had a lovely and amazing interface. The entire showcase of all the fleeces available were shown in a slideshow kind of manner which I liked very much. It had previous, next buttons for showing the other ones and had a pause button as well. It was just like browsing through a fashion magazine. It also had a counter to find out how many people liked the particular design. There were also the communities and blogs to talk all about fashion.

I have seen a handful of online shopping sites but when it comes to buying fashionable items, this site really sits right on the top of them all.

Nokia s40 platform gets a high-end device

By Praveen Edburg | Wednesday, November 26, 2008

The details about the yet to be announced Nokia mobile phone 6260 has been leaked online.

It is a slider device similar to the 6210 navigator's design. The design felt to be just OK but i really liked the rear design.

The major thing with this device is the plethora of features it contains. It contains a 5 mega pixel camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, HVGA resolution screen, TV-out, microSD upto 8 GB and the usual other features.

Whats really surprising is that the S40 platform had been neglected for a while and all of the higher end devices and even mid-range ones were coming up only in the S60 platform. Seems Nokia doesn't want this OS to die off so easily. This one will come up with the s40 6th edition OS.

The screen resolution is the unusual 320 x 480 for which most of the current applications are not compatible but it is quite a way to move forward from the typical QVGA screens.

The pricing should be lesser than the similar S60 Symbian offerings.

Security at home

By Praveen Edburg | Wednesday, November 26, 2008

There have been a lot of security breaches and accidents at the houses nearby my locality. So I have been wondering about how to resolve those issues and stop worrying about them. Then I found this site called homesecurityinformation.com which has a lot of such articles regarding safe guarding a house, car, etc.

There were various categories like home security, car security, house insurance, burglar alarms and several other useful ones too. I particularly liked the article about what all things are to be considered when shopping around for a gun safe. They mentioned about locks, bolts, steel thickness and some additional features that should be considered in a gun safe. The site was just what I was looking for as it covered most of the aspects that I was searching for like home security.

I feel that these kind of articles are a must read for any house owner as anyone can always get into such trouble at any time and they have to be prepared to any situation.

The Dark Knight now available in HD

By Praveen Edburg | Wednesday, November 26, 2008

The blockbuster of the decade, the dark knight has now been made available in high definition. It is currently available in Blu-ray disc in stores.

Having made a big fan of the bat man series ever since the batman begins came into theaters, I am eagerly looking forward to watch the movie in its HD glory. I had watched the movie a couple of times and absolutely loved it. But I think the replay value of the movie is not that good as I felt a bit boring the second time as it was pretty long.

But since only recently I had bought the DVD version of the movie, I am not going to buy the HD version any time soon. Only after I finish setting up my home theater in my house, will I buy one if at all. I am a bit disappointed that the DVD version was made available first and then the HD version. Why cant they make both versions available at the same time as that people wont have the inconvinence of waiting for the HD version.

Fixed deposit interest rates are lowering

By Praveen Edburg | Tuesday, November 25, 2008

In this economic recession, the banks are cutting down on the interest rates that they are giving in their fixed deposit schemes.

There used to many schemes where the interest rates of over 10 % used to be the norm for any fixed deposit. But now after the financial crisis, the investments are getting harder and the profits are decreasing forcing the banks to lower their interest rates.

So now with stock market crashing, the real estate on a downslide and now this interest rates declining, the investment option for those looking to save for future are getting much harder and yielding less money.

Gold was recently a good option as many people flocked to buy them when other investment options were not that good. But now even the price of gold doesnt seem to be increasing that much. So the consumers are now quite confused as to which one to invest in.

Dodge cars and their reviews

By Praveen Edburg | Tuesday, November 25, 2008

Recently I have been seeing a lot of Dodge model cars around and I was wondering about their various models on offer their price and the performance and comfort that they provide. I was keen on comparing them to other brands. I also remember that when I used to play video games, Dodge Viper used to be my favorite car and wanted to know how it performs in the real world.

I found exactly what I was looking for in the site named thecarconnection and there was a separate section for all about the cars from dodge brand. There were lots of models available in this brand. The website has a nice interface where it was a breeze to sort the cars by the year or price range or the fuel efficiency and even the type of car like a sedan or SUV.

For each model, there was a complete and detailed review of the car. There was also much useful information about the car such as the photo gallery of the vehicle, the fuel efficiency of the model, the related news about the specific model and the various trims and specs that the car was available at. They even provide a free price quote.

Overall, in the end I ended up liking the Dodge brand and their various car models available after reading about them in the information available in the website.

Stock market education

By Praveen Edburg | Monday, November 24, 2008

BetterTrades is a company providing educational stuffs on the stock market and how to invest properly so as to yield maximum profits. I have always wanted to enter into the stock market business but so far I have never even went near it as I have no knowledge about the stocks or how the stock markets really work. I was afraid of making some huge losses if I invest in stocks now due to my lack of expertise in this field. So I found this site to be a valuable resource that would help me in successfully participating in the stock markets.

I saw that there were very good BetterTrades Coaches providing high quality stock market education and materials that will be up to date and timely. These two combine to provide a great level of service and enables one to be profitable in the stock market. I was particularly interested in one of the instructors named Freddie Rick in the BetterTrades coaches.

I liked them better since unlike brokers instructing one to invest in particular shares, they provide the valuable educational content enough to know by oneself as to which stock he should invest in. Currently they are offering a free BetterTrades financial freedom expo in many of the communities.

More information About BetterTrades can be found here.

Suzuki to follow Yamaha with its own super bikes

By Praveen Edburg | Monday, November 24, 2008

After Yamaha has had its much needed brand booster with its super bikes such as the R1 and the MT01, it has become quite successful with its common man bikes of 150cc. It seems Suzuki is all set to follow Yamaha’s foot steps very soon.

It has been revealed that Suzuki plans to introduce its higher end bikes such as the Hayabusa at the end of this year. The brand value of Suzuki has been low key in India so far with its motorbike not selling very well. Although these kinds of motorbikes priced at 10+ lakhs are hard to sell even at double digit figures each month, as brand hype, these models should help a long way in selling the other lower end models.

The first higher segment to be launched very soon is the Hayabusa which is a great sports bike and is capable of crossing the 300 kmph barrier. It is expected to be available for about 12 lakhs. The other bikes with 1 liter plus engine capacity will follow suit. A 600 cc motorbike is also set to be launched along them.

I think its much better for these manufacturers to launch a bike with around 250-500 cc engine capacity and kick ass styling at price ranges less than 2 lakhs to be able to sell a considerable amount of those models. There is no model above the 225 cc engine size variant and it would have been great to cash in on that. The models at around 10 lakhs won’t get that many buyers in our country and can only be used a brand hype models.

A world of Land Rovers

By Praveen Edburg | Monday, November 24, 2008

So far I have written some of the posts about my love for automobiles and all. But of all the vehicles, the Land Rover range of cars were the ones which impressed me the most and I just love to drive them. This luxury brand provides great road manners with its great handling and composure in the highways and at the same time it also provides great levels of comfort.

While I was looking for some more information and comments on the Land Rover vehicles, I came across this wonderful website called Land Rover world which is dedicated solely to the Land Rover range of vehicles. It was good to see some guys having same taste as mine for the love of these kinds of vehicles and that they had created a site just for that.

The site contains all the test reports of the vehicles such as Defender, Discovery, Range Rover or Series I, II, III. These test reports are downloadable as well. It contains several sections where the categories such as events, world shows, off-road centres, tests, articles and downloads. Any person with some passion for Land Rover vehicles should absolutely love to hang around in this website and share their ideas and views in it.

Great way to buy Opera tickets

By Praveen Edburg | Monday, November 24, 2008

I recently found a great way to buy Opera house tickets in an easy manner. The people who used to go to Metropolitan Opera house on a frequent basis will know how hard it is to buy these Metropolitan Opera House tickets from the box office. They will have to drive down all the way to the venue and then wait in a long queue forever and then finally when about to get a ticket, the tickets are all gone. It can be a quite frustrating procedure. Buying a ticket through the telephone line is also similar with busy lines and being put on hold forever.

2 guys tickets is a privately owned online ticket broker that facilitates to buy these kind of tickets without making a sweat. TO make the deal even more interesting, the prices are cheaper than other similar providers and their service is of excellent standards. I was looking for August Wilson Theatre Tickets and Boston Opera House Tickets and I am glad that I found those tickets to be available.

They can be contacted through email or the phone. They offer a great selection of concert, theater and sporting events and this list is growing very rapidly. In addition, they also provide the much useful schedules, show times, venue seating charts and seating layouts.

They can be contacted at 1-708-535-9104 and they accept almost all the credit cards and ship the tickets by fedex for those in US and Canada.

Max Payne movie - A total failure

By Praveen Edburg | Monday, November 24, 2008

I had already written about my expectations on the game turned movie Max Payne. I was excited about it as I was the big fan of the game Max Payne and wanted the movie to be better if not atleast equal to it.

But I was wrong as what is the usual norm for these kind of game turned movie kinds, even this one turned out to be utter failure. The environment and adrenaline content were not even close to the way the game had in it. The story line was rather complicated and the Mona Sax character was a disappointment as I just loved the one in the game.

I dont know what were the movie maker thinking when they were making the movie. Even if they had copied each and everything from the game, I would have loved it. It was a terrible movie and a disgrace to the once great game that was ever developed.

Now after several game based movie failures such as Hitman, Doom, this one and several others, all my hope is on the Prince of Persia movie which is also made up from the popular and successful game with the same name. I am just hoping that the movie makers dont turn that too a crap like what they have done so far with the other movies.

Expensive HDMI cables

By Praveen Edburg | Monday, November 24, 2008

When I had bought a new home theater I had no idea about the ridiculous prices for a HDMI cable and I thought since it was new generation connection cable, having such a port in my TV, computer and DVD player would be better.

I was also impressed by the fact that the single cable can send both video and audio signals and that too in high quality. This way I can minimize the cable cluster that I usually get around the electronic devices in my house.

But when I was in the market to buy a HDMI cable for my home theater, I was shocked to see the prices at which these retail at. I saw some ones retailing for about $100 (Rs.4800) which was 1/10th of the cost of my 40" LCD itself and 2 times more than my DVD player itself.

Then with much searching around for a while, I found that there were quite some cheap ones too for sale at prices at about $5. At first sight, I thought that they would be some cheap quality ones and would degrade the signal quality that it sent through.

But after much research, I found that HDMI cables use only digital signals and so there is not point of signal degradation. It is either that a 1 or 0 passes through or not. It can't degrade in quality like the analog based ones.

So I decided to try out the cheap ones for a fraction of the cost of the more expensive ones and boy was I surprised. I got a clear signal for both my video and audio. I was feeling good that I did not fall for those gold plated oxygen free ratings and shell out a fortune for those cables.

A guide to disinfect from termites

By Praveen Edburg | Sunday, November 23, 2008

Termites can be a nightmare for any house owner as it almost eats away the wooden pieces of the house such as furniture, doors and window frames. It is also quite hard to find a termite infection as close inspection is needed to verify such a fact.

There is a website called as killthetermites.com that is dedicated to the problems caused by these termites and can help in termite removal . It contains several guides as how to get rid of the termites. It tells how to identify that the house is infested with termites, how to stop them from getting in and about the various termite control products that are available in the market and their advantages and disadvantages.

The site also details about the kind of termites, ways to kill them and some specific products that can be used in the process. The site can be of great help to those whose houses have been affected by these nasty termites.

Fiat Linea started production

By Praveen Edburg | Sunday, November 23, 2008

After a tremendously long wait from Fiat India to launch their new car Linea, the news has finally come that the production of the car has started and that the car will be in showrooms by the end of December.

The Linea has been the most awaited car from Fiat in the past few years and its launch was expected every now and then for the past several months. The car is said to be available for booking in the next month and delivery set to start by January next year as the cars would then be 2009 models.

The biggest thing going for the car must be the build quality and the great ride and handling. It was a downer to see the same 1.3 litre diesel engine that has been going rounds in 3 of the small hatchbacks currently. On the positive side, it is bumped up to 90 bhp. The initial preview from the autocar show has been very good.

Now all that Fiat has to do is provide good after sales service and spare parts availability which has been the major gripe with Fiat customers so far.

The car is said to trump the market offerings such as new Honda city and the Fiesta, Verna, SX4 in terms of the features provided as standard.

Rain playing spoil sport in the 4th ODI

By Praveen Edburg | Sunday, November 23, 2008

Rain has just played spoilsport in the currently ongoing ODI series between England and India in the cricket series.

This has been a very bad situation for England to be in as they wont be able to win the series from no if the current match is canceled. At best, they can only make out a draw.

India were going good at 105/1 at over 6 runs per over.

Update :

The match has resumed now and the number of overs to be bowled has been reduced to 22 for each side. This can quite be like a typical 20-20 match rather than an ODI.

The target has been set as 198 by India and the English players are valiantly chasing the target right now.

Machine that makes things

By Praveen Edburg | Saturday, November 22, 2008

I had recently come across this site which is a company called AP&T. This company actually builds specialized machines that have the ability to make other things which are made out of metal like the things used in auto parts industry, cylinders, etc. They have an online presence at apt-usa.com

They have a pretty good way of doing these things which have not been done by anybody else so far. One of the ways is called as hot stamping which is a way of forming metal. They offer these services worldwide in many of the countries.

The company builds machines that can build other machines in an automated process in manufacturing. These kinds of machines are built by them with advanced pressroom automation and reliable hydraulic presses which can meet the demands of stamping, forming and deep drawing of today's high tech metals. This hydraulic press service provides great reliability and proven technology for the products.

More information about their products is found in their website.

GM giving huge discounts

By Praveen Edburg | Friday, November 21, 2008

As the three US based car companies General Motors, Ford and Chrysler are in the verge of being bankrupt, it seems they are desperate to make people buy their vehicles.

Here in Chennai, India, GM goes by the name of Chevrolet and has some good collection of cars in their stable. I heard that the Indian division of GM has actually increased sales by 20 % where the worldwide the situation been the opposite.

The Optra magnum which was launched by Chevrolet has been a very good car for its price except that people here are not accustomed to cars of the brand. They are even offering 3 years free maintenance offer.

My friend was interested in the Magnum because of the awesome performance of the car and he was told by the dealer of the huge discount offered for the top end version of the model. He was immediately impressed by the price.

But as the situation is not currently good for the company, I advised him to wait for a month and watch what happens to the company. If it becomes bankrupt, then it may be impossible to get spare parts and resale value would be negligible.

We are currently looking for some news on the situation of the company and buy the car when things get clear.

Auto body shop at Ontario

By Praveen Edburg | Friday, November 21, 2008

Car repairs and scratches can be quite common and especially one happens to live in a city, then there could be frequent scratches, bends and damages from the stupid drivers. In cases of collisions, there can be some major repair work to be done and it can cause lots of problems to the car owner. For such body repairs, there is a great auto body shop at Ontario.

The best part that I like about auto body shops ontario is that they have an online presence at their site (autobodyontario.com) where one could make appointments, see feedback scores, ratings and reviews for the job and vehicle type. They have a Google maps API on their home page to guide users to the exact nearest location of the auto body shop.

Collision repair experts are trusted auto body shops and they adhere to strict quality and service guidelines. The customers are given a follow up phone call and their experience can be logged and published to the web. The feedback score of the shop is then taken from the combined scores given by the customers.

Just saw Madagascar 2

By Praveen Edburg | Friday, November 21, 2008

I had been eagerly waiting for the second installment of the madagascar series to be released in theaters as I liked the previous one very much. As it has been released recently, I went to the theater along with my friends and they were suggesting to go in for the James Bond movie instead of the animation movie. I somehow persuaded them that the reviews of the Quantum of Solace were not that good and went in to see the animals perform their comedy act once again.

I just loved the first half of the movie which was filled will lots of laughs, fun and excitement. The second half of the movie, though it had some funny scenes, was much focused on family sentiments and such and made it less funny. I would have liked it better if they had continued with the pace of the first hour. Overall I loved the movie and would recommend anyone to watch it as the laughs justify more than enough for the time and money spent.

Even my friends liked the film. Don't know if its just me or the majority of the animation films that have been coming are very good, even better than some blockbuster movies. Looking forward to some more light hearted movies.

Tracing any phone number

By Praveen Edburg | Friday, November 21, 2008

A while back I had written some posts on phone number tracing and their usefulness. And recently, I faced several other prank calls to annoy me even more and I found another site called reversephonenumbertrace which can be very useful in Phone Number Trace.

With this site, users can trace the owner of any phone no matter whether the number is listed or unlisted and hence can avoid being harassed from such callers. These kinds of sites can be pretty useful because sometimes, the phone’s caller ID does not provide any information at all or not enough information about the phone number from which the call comes. For these situations, the detailed information about the caller can be found with this site with its massive collections of compiled database of phone numbers. Thus the required information can be accessed.

Over at the home page there is a useful collection of area codes of various states. Just typing the phone number into the search box can yield the required information in a matter of seconds.

New Nvida driver to take back the performance crown

By Praveen Edburg | Friday, November 21, 2008

Nvidia has made available a new driver for its high end graphic cards that has been said to increase the performance by a good margin over the previous ones.

The new driver version is 180.x which claim to achieve this feat. As a result, several benchmarks over the web has shown that GTX 260 and GTX 280 have increased in performance by a large enough margin that it actually outruns the AMD HD4870 by a good enough margin and is again a reasonable buy in the higher end graphic cards.

However this performance upgrade through driver is said to be only for the newer series GTX 2x0 which are ultra high end and the 9 series and 8 series response to these drivers is still to be benchmarked. Whatever the perfomrance crown in this price segment has once again fallen to Nvidia.

AMD had been ruling over the graphic card market with its HD 4xxx series of cards lately and even managed to take the overall performance crown with the X2 cards. Even now in the budget and mid range segments, their cards offer very good performance for thier price. Now all eyes are set at AMD/ATi as gaming enthusiasts are expecting them to come up with a similar performance driver.

Buy or sell a boat

By Praveen Edburg | Friday, November 21, 2008

I recently came across a website that can be used to find or sell as boat. Since this is a site dedicated to boats and that there are more number of visitors and just a onetime fee, I feel that this site is a great option for those looking to either buy or sell a boat.

The website itself is a neatly designed one with a pleasing feel. In the home page, they show the featured boats for sale. The boats can be searched by browsing through either the state or the manufacturer. For example the boats at New Jersey can be found easily using this. The various categories available for boats are power boats, sailboats, non-powered, personal watercraft and commercial boats. In each category there are lots of boats available for sale. I was particularly interested in sport fishing boats.

There were various plus points that I found in the site. The ads that are put in the site will run forever until the boat is sold. The number of photos allowed is upto 21. Thousands of visitors will help in making a deal quickly. There is just a one time fee and no monthly charges.

All this is done for a one time fee of just $14.95 which is a great price for the ad.

New Dell Full HD monitors

By Praveen Edburg | Thursday, November 20, 2008

Dell is all set to launch its new line of LCD monitors. The new ones will include a 22" and a 24" one. There is also a 23" model available in the US but i doubt that it will be launched here. The most significant difference between the older model 22" and this newer 22" is the resolution. The newer one is Full HD ( 1920 x 1080 ) whereas the older ones in 22" used to have a resolution of 1680 x 900 or something.

However I don't find the new design to my liking. The curved edges and lifeless stand has put me off and are not to my taste.

I was looking to buy a monitor in the size of about 22" and I was considering the Benq E2200HD mainly because of its Full HD and HDMI port. Now that Dell too has full HD in its 22" I think I will go for Dell eventhough it lacks HDMI and good looks as I think they have better quality and great after sales service.

I think the 22" will retail for about Rs.12,000 as one of my friend had asked a Dell retailer about it.

Defibrillation Leads recall

By Praveen Edburg | Thursday, November 20, 2008

It has been found that some of the defibrillation leads has been involved in the death of five patients and as a result, Medtronic Inc has removed the Sprint Fidelis defibrillation product from the market. It is observed that the defibrillation leads has the potential to cause fracture or some serious injuries including death.

Defibrillators are devices to regulate the heartbeat of a person. It is said that if a fracture occurs in the defibrillator lead, then it could cause the defibrillator to not operate at all or deliver shocks that are unnecessary to the heart. As a result, Medtronic has asked doctors not to implant the leads and return the unused ones.

The Defibrillator Lead Recall is for the models at risk Sprint which are Fidelis 6930, Sprint Fidelis 6931, Sprint Fidelis 6948 and Sprint Fidelis 6949.

If you or someone you know happens to have Defective Defibrillator Leads implanted, you may have valuable rights and can consult a Medtronic Recall Lawyer. A free consultation is available at the site. There is no legal fee unless compensation is won in the case.

By Praveen Edburg | Thursday, November 20, 2008

Diwali festival is a traditional one celebrated in India. We would be bursting lots of crackers on that day. This festival is celebrated at a national wide. I would like to tell you about my experience on the eve of Diwali.

On that day, we were busy in celebrating the festival. A courier man came with two parcels to my home. One gift is to me and the other gift is to my sister. We were surprised as who had sent that. When I unwrapped the parcel I found it was sent by my uncle staying in London via the site Gift Ideas. In the parcel, the first thing that striked is a  greeting card wishing me Happy Diwali from my uncle. Another thing I found in the gift basket was a white Polo T-shirt. I was excited.

On the other hand, my sister received the same greeting card along with a skin care gift bag. I explored about whats the speciality about the site Stylehive. There are many accessories found in this site. The site is maintaining different products in various fields.I found this site to be the perfect suit to know more about current trends. And this is the apt site for sending gift parcels.

We both thanked our uncle.

Fully fledged Flash player on mobile phones soon

By Praveen Edburg | Wednesday, November 19, 2008

Adobe has officially announced its popular flash player which is used to display videos in web pages is around the corner for mobile phones running operating systems like Symbian, Android, Windows mobile and possibly Blackberry.

The latest version of flash player for typical PCs is 10 and the same one only with a smaller, leaner and faster version will be made available for mobile phones in the recent future.

Mobiles so far use a far inferior version of Flash known as Flash Lite 3.0 in their web browsers. With newer and better mobile internet browsers, better connectivity options and now this complete flash support, mobiles are becoming better and better in web browsing with only the small screen size to be a major constraint.

The requirements for the mobile to support Flash is that it should have atleast an 200 MHz processor with 16 MB of RAM and a proper web browser supporting the required standards. Most of the newer mobiles satisfies these requirements.

USB 3.0 coming soon

By Praveen Edburg | Wednesday, November 19, 2008

The USB (Universal Serial Bus) has been the most preferred connection port. It has been used in a variety of devices like keyboard/mouse, printer, scanner, flash drives, external hard drives, joysticks and possibly most of all PC peripheral devices. Due to its popularity, it has made its way outside the PC standards too like DVD players, etc.

So far USB has crossed 2 generations and is now on 2.0 standards. The USB 3.0 promoters have announced that the USB 3.0 specification has been completed and that devices with USB 3.0 will arrive in the market in a year’s time.

The possible advantages of USB 3.0 are obviously better transfer speeds and better power management. The standard will be able to offer much better transfer speeds which current external hard disks achieve by eSATA interface. It will pin-compatible with current USB ports and will have backward compatibility.

Awkwardly the standard has been named as SuperSpeed which I feel is a totally ridiculously name. Already the common people don’t know the difference between a Full-speed and hi-speed USB standards, and this is all set to take the confusion levels to an all new level.

Buy pool cues, billiards, pool cue cases, pokers and dart at PoolDawg

By Praveen Edburg | Wednesday, November 19, 2008

I used to play billiards online with my friend via yahoo messenger. I love the game very much and there are different pools in the billiard. After playing the game online, I have developed an interest over the game. So me and some of my friends went to the billiards centre for playing the game live. We used to play the Pool B game. Initially I struggled but later on managed to play well. For a month we went to the centre, but the cost for playing the game was quite really high.

So we decided to buy the board by sharing the cost. We searched in net to find the best site to buy the billiards and pool cues and found the site Pool Cue to be the more apt one. The reason why we chose this site to buy the billiards is it is maintaining over 3,000 products and 700+ models of pool cues.  Moreover the deals that offered were quite attractive. Moreover we can select the board by the price range, brand. The deals are catchy and we bought billiard and pool cue from this site. I suggest you this is the best site to search and buy for any pool products.

Within one week we had received our billiard cue, board and the billiard cue was provided with a shaft. The manual for maintance is really useful for us. Now we are playing the game daily without any restriction.

Honda Civic hybrid limited period offer expires

By Praveen Edburg | Wednesday, November 19, 2008

The limited period offer that Honda had been offering on its green car, the Civic hybrid as expired almost immediately following huge demand from buyers.

The offer was made on around the November 10th time period and Honda offered a huge discount of almost 8 lakhs on its hybrid version of the car. The Civic hybrid was available for 13.65 lakhs. The original launch price for the same car was 20+ lakhs.

With the whooping price discount, the company obviously has had thousands of inquiries and more than 200 bookings. Since the demand has been met and it will take several more months to get new orders of such cars, the company has closed the offer. The car is imported as a CBU (Completely built unit) and hence attracts more than 100 % of tax.

It is said that the Civic hybrid, the first of its kind in India, sold nearly 50 cars in the first month of the launch and then the sales declined so much that in the next few months, sonly single digit numbers of the car was sold. Since the car was identical to the one priced at half its price and that the saved cost by going to hybrid is not going to compensate for the additional investment, many deferred from buying it.

This must have been a stock clearance type of sale as Honda realized that not even decent sales are going to happen to the car at that price. I can only feel sorry for the guys who purchased the car at 20+ lakhs as they would have been shocked to hear that their exactly same car was available for 8 lakhs less and this would have a major impact on the resale values as well.

HP's earnings exceed expectations

By Praveen Edburg | Wednesday, November 19, 2008

Among the various top technology companies facing serious job cuts and decrease in profits, finally there is some sort of relief in announcement of HP's Q4 revenue and earnings. In this economic slowdown and financial crisis, it is a good feel and sight to hear about atleast some good news in this sector.

The analysts’ expectations were about $33.1 million and HP managed to forecast a revenue of $33.6 million. With this announcement, the share prices have increased about 12 %.

HP’s purchase of EDS (Electronic Data Systems) for $13.9 billion has boosted the quarter’s revenue which has increased to about 19 percent over last year’s Q4. HP’s recent job cuts may also have influenced the revenue and earnings though it suggested that the company is going through rough waters and was desperate to minimize losses.

The CEO Mark Hurd was pleased with the company’s performance.

By Praveen Edburg | Tuesday, November 18, 2008

Hope many of you would be knowing what is a poker. A poker is nothing but a family of card game. This game is a good time pass for every one. During my summer holidays I used to play online this game via the site FlopTurnRiver. This site not only served as a good time pass but also helped me to earn some money. There are many offers provided by the site and I had made use of those offers to earn and save more money.

First I would like to tell you about the PokerStars Marketing Code. I had signed the site using the marketing code "flopturnriver" and I had received an exclusive bonus upto 75$ i.e., upto 150% deposit bonus( . I think no other site is offering such a huge offer. In addition to the offer, I was also been granted access to exclusive Poker Stars events. If any of you are interested then visit the above link where they would explain you how to sign up with a detailed and clear explanation.

I think this is the site where more than 100,000 members are playing this poker game online during day time. There are many rakebacks and bonuses offered in PokerStars Rakeback. Using these offers a professional can win prizes for his performance, freshers can easily increase their credits.

I have used the PokerStars Bonus Code in receiving more offers and bonus. Now I have earned money via tournaments necessary for buying a car. Thanks to Flopturnriver.

Yahoo CEO steps down

By Praveen Edburg | Tuesday, November 18, 2008

The co-founder and current CEO of Yahoo, Jerry Yang, has been confirmed to step down from his post and go back to being Chief Yahoo. The replacement of the CEO is still being searched and has not been finalized after which the current CEO will step down.

Jerry Yang has been the CEO for the past 18 months and is said that he wanted to remain in control of Yahoo but had to go because of the pressure faced by the company’s board. The biggest concern is said to be due to the failure to accept Microsoft’s bid which offered almost around $30 for a share. Another possible failure is the collapse of the possible search ad partnership with Google.

Over the past few months, the income of Yahoo has fallen about 50 % and with recent job cuts, things doesn’t seem all bright at the company. Currently the share price of Yahoo has dropped to around $10 and with announcement of CEO stepping down, the price went up a bit.

NexentaStor the best NAS system

By Praveen Edburg | Tuesday, November 18, 2008

Before saying about the use of product Nexenta Systems, I would like to tell you what is meant by Network attached Storage . It is nothing but file-level computer data storage connected to a computer network providing data access to heterogeneous network clients. The NAS unit is nothing but a computer connected to the network with the aim of supplying the file based data storage services to other units on the network. This system performs the function of file management, access management, storage management.

Now I would like to provide you NexentaStor information. The Nexenta Systems are designed for use in 2nd tierNAS and in iSCSI (a protocol that allows the clients to send SCSI commands to SCSI storage devices on remote servers) applications. Thus implementing NexentaStorage systems would help in open, low cost, high performance storage as well as dramatically simplified provisioning, expansion, backup, replication and archiving. Many companies are using the Nexenta systems as a primary NAS. The organisation is keep on continuing to add services to its system making it a leader in this industry. Newly included features are improved active directory integration, improved fault management, support for high availability (HA).

The system uses ZFS based software appliance. ZFS is a type of file system and is a open source software. The features of ZFS include support for high storage capacities, integration of the concepts of filesystem and volume management, snapshots and copy-on-write clones, on-line integrity checking and repair, RAID-Z and native NFSv4 ACLs. Thus the feature rich ZFS is implemented in Nexenta systems. This system can targets the full life cycle of your data, with flexible snapshots, retention policies, and helps in tiering and synchronization between various storage systems, and optional compression per storage container.

In addition to these features, NexentaStor keeps on updating the plugins that can be used by these systems to extend its capabilities. The VM Data Center plug-in module dramatically simplifies the management of storage for VMware ESX servers. Administrators remove the risk of spiking the CPUs of the ESX servers and make administration and performance of the snapshot backups far better by removing backups from the ESX servers and putting them onto the NexentaStor NAS/iSCSI solution. More releases of VM Data Center are expected to be released during 2008 and 2009. This plugin is offered at free of cost

Nintendo Wii Games

By Praveen Edburg | Monday, November 17, 2008

The Nintendo Wii has been a greatly successful product so far ever since its launch. During its launch, the hype was surrounded by the other two powerful consoles like the Microsoft Xbox 360 and the Sony PS3. However the Wii has managed to surpass the sales of other gaming consoles by a wide margin. Even though the Wii was not powerful like the other ones, customers were attracted by the user friendly image of the console with the Wii remote, classic and good games on offer and the relatively cheaper price tag.

The games for the Wii are priced differently at each shop. A comparison of the prices from different stores may help in deciding the best offer available and that is what a site names savebuckets does exactly. It lists the prices for Wii games from various online shops so that the customer can choose the cheapest price very easily. For example the popular Wii Fit is available in the price ranging from £69-£90 from various shops and the user can buy the game for the cheapest price of £69. Similarly the Nintendo Wii Sports pack is available for the price range of £169.99-£239.95

A lot of other games are also available for the cheapest prices. The site also sells stuffs for several other gaming consoles as well like the Nintendo Gameboy, Nintendo DS, PSP, etc.

ARM to enter the netbook segment

By Praveen Edburg | Monday, November 17, 2008

The popular small scale processor maker in small devices seems to be interested in the much happening segment of netbooks. ARM has expressed their plans to enter this market segment.

Probably the most interesting feature about the ARM processors are its impressive power consumption numbers apart from being reasonably fast. The devices that runs in the processor architecture are so far pretty good with video playback, web browsing and great battery life.

The popular mobile phone from Apple, the iPhone also runs in this processor architecture.

But the biggest setback for this processor architecture is that it is not x86 compatible and hence wont run the currently available popular desktop operating systems. Perhaps the only option is to run a linux based OS that supports this processor architecture. But the mobile version of Windows OS, the Windows mobile, can run in this platform.

With already so much of processors and OSes going rounds in the netbook segment, the arrival of this may further crowd the already overcrowded market. But for the consumer, more choices means better deals and hence I wont be complaining about it.

Choosing the right card

By Praveen Edburg | Monday, November 17, 2008

Generally choosing the bank to go for in order to create an account can be a difficult choice to make. There are several ones to choose from and with the recent bankruptcy of many big firms, the decision just got a lot harder. Amidst this credit crunch and financial crisis, a credit card is becoming more important and vital for many people. But many just go to any random bank and get a card without considering the prices and services that other banks offer.

Now there is a site called comparecards to compare the different cards that the banks offer and choose the best one in terms of price and the services provided. Using this service, one can easily choose the right credit crd suitable for him. One can compare the cards by various things like category, credit quality, brand and the issuer. I tried comparing the CITI credit cards and AMEX Corporate Credit Cards. After a lot of analysis, I finally decided that the Providian Credit Cards were the best for me.

The simple procedure offered by the site involves research to find the type of card one is looking for and then comparing the carious card offers to determine the best one and finally applying for a card with a secure online application.

This site can use very much useful in helping to choosing the right card that one needs.
