Fiat Linea started production

After a tremendously long wait from Fiat India to launch their new car Linea, the news has finally come that the production of the car has started and that the car will be in showrooms by the end of December.

The Linea has been the most awaited car from Fiat in the past few years and its launch was expected every now and then for the past several months. The car is said to be available for booking in the next month and delivery set to start by January next year as the cars would then be 2009 models.

The biggest thing going for the car must be the build quality and the great ride and handling. It was a downer to see the same 1.3 litre diesel engine that has been going rounds in 3 of the small hatchbacks currently. On the positive side, it is bumped up to 90 bhp. The initial preview from the autocar show has been very good.

Now all that Fiat has to do is provide good after sales service and spare parts availability which has been the major gripe with Fiat customers so far.

The car is said to trump the market offerings such as new Honda city and the Fiesta, Verna, SX4 in terms of the features provided as standard.
