The initial reviews of the yet-to-be launched Intel's next next gen microprocessor architecture codenamed Nehalem has been made available online at several tech sites.
The reviews have come up positively with the new processors though not as good as reviews which came for the Core 2 architecture when it first came out. These newer ones do perform better than the Core 2 architecture but are not consistent in its performance increases. The biggest performance increase comes only in 3D and video encoding type of applications. The gaming performance mostly remains neutral and rarely goes above and below the benchmarks posted the the Core 2 architecture.
The power consumption goes up a bit from the penryn processors but the performance difference more than enough makes up for it.
