The graphics giant and chipset maker Nvidia has reported its Q3 results. Their profits have decreased to around $61 million as compared to the $230 million in the same period last year.
The decrease is mainly attributed to its lackluster performance in the graphics hardware and the recalls due to its defective hardware. Ever since AMD introduced their HD4xxx series graphics hardware, the Nvidia counterparts have been lacking in performance and their value causing thier market share to decline rapidly in a very short period of time. Their defective product recalls which happened recently have also affected their profit margins.
The fact that Apple has adopted Nvidia's chipsets for their MacBooks and the fact that 9400M chipset has received good reviews may be the only positive points for Nvidia this quarter.
