Ford has launched the all new Ikon in India. The new version has a modified exterior and the diesel engine which was previously used in the Fiesta.
The exterior is fresh and good looking. But honestly I liked the front design of the older version better than this one.
The 1.4 diesel engine serves this car. While it is low at power at 68 ps, it provides good fuel economy and great driveability.
The interiors and features provided are nothing to be excited about as its the usual thing.
The price is yet to be announced but it must be around the 5 lakhs mark for the base version ex-showroom price. This should target the buyers of Swift Dezire and Mahindra Logan and I think Ford guys have done quite well so far. The high maintenance issue of the previous Ikon being fresh in the buyers mind, some kind of comprehensive maintenance policy like what GM did with their cars should help the car sales by a long way.
