Heavy rains lash Chennai

For the past two days, heavy rains have lashed throughout the southern Indian region. Particularly Chennai and its surroundings have been majorly affected by these rains.

The rains which were due to a low pressure cyclone forming in the bay of Bengal started about 2 days ago. From then on it doesn't seem to have taken a break. It has been raining cats and dogs throughout the past 2 days.

As usual the roads have been flooded and vehicle movement has taken a major hit. Even some of the trains and planes have been canceled due to this unprecedented rains.

Over at my neighborhood, the rains have left a hue pool of water that doesn't seem to drain off. I dont think anyone can take a vehicle anywhere out in Chennai without damaging their vehicles.

And due to the cyclone, strong winds have been blowing too and a couple of trees also have been uprooted causing further hindrance in traffic movement.

Following this, all the schools and colleges have been declared a holiday for the past two days and its looks to be the same case tomorrow also if things dont improve.

As of now there is no signs of any improvement in the weather and looks like the rains will continue for some more time.
