As the three US based car companies General Motors, Ford and Chrysler are in the verge of being bankrupt, it seems they are desperate to make people buy their vehicles.
Here in Chennai, India, GM goes by the name of Chevrolet and has some good collection of cars in their stable. I heard that the Indian division of GM has actually increased sales by 20 % where the worldwide the situation been the opposite.
The Optra magnum which was launched by Chevrolet has been a very good car for its price except that people here are not accustomed to cars of the brand. They are even offering 3 years free maintenance offer.
My friend was interested in the Magnum because of the awesome performance of the car and he was told by the dealer of the huge discount offered for the top end version of the model. He was immediately impressed by the price.
But as the situation is not currently good for the company, I advised him to wait for a month and watch what happens to the company. If it becomes bankrupt, then it may be impossible to get spare parts and resale value would be negligible.
We are currently looking for some news on the situation of the company and buy the car when things get clear.
