AMD's mid range graphic card HD 4830 launched

Ever since the introduction of AMD/ATi’s 4xxx series they have been firing on all cylinders and have absolutely thrashed Nvidia’s lineup of their series of cards. The higher end segment was dominated at first with the 4870/50 cards and then the ultra high-end monster 4870X2. Then came the midrange and lower end cards with 4670, 4550 and 4350. Now this card 4830 has been launched to fill the gap between 4670 and 4850.

This card sits right in between the 4670 and 4850 both in terms of price and also performance. The card is set to be available at a price point of around $130. Initial reviews have suggested it as a good performer. Although performance of this card is above the rival Nvidia’s 9800GT, the power consumed by this card is slightly higher than Nvidia’s card.

Overall a pretty good card for its price and suits the people who have been eyeing the segment between the mid-end and high-end cards.
