With the rainy season having started and rains having been pouring heavily in the past few days, I think many people ought to pay importance to their electronic gadgets and protect them from getting affected in the rains. And the one gadget that everyone carries always is his mobile phone and from what I know several people lose their mobile phone by getting it wet. And with the prices which people are buying these phones, it becomes that much important to take good care of them.
Firstly try to avoid going out in the rains if it is possibly. This is the easiest way. But of course many people don’t follow this. So if you happen to go in the rains, then switch off your phone if you think it may get wet. Wrapping the phone in a water proof casing or pouch may be a good idea but it is not comfortable and may not allow signals to get through.
If by some reason your mobile gets wrenched in water, don’t worry there is still hope of getting it revived. First of all the mobile would have switched off on its own due to the water and if it has not (very unlikely) then switch it off manually. The most important thing is don’t try to switch on or start the mobile in this condition as you may be literally murdering your mobile this way. If the water was salt water then make sure to wash the mobile in fresh water as salt contents may result in worse conditions. Now take off the battery and all accessories in the mobile. Open all the casings and let it dry for a few days completely. The screen may be closely watched to see any water traces remaining in the mobile. The whole drying process may take about 2-3 days. Now after drying, put on the battery and try switching on the phone. It should work.
Believe me I had put my mobile under water for a full 15 minutes and following this procedure I got it back in good condition.
