How i chose my LCD TV

We were on the hunt for a good LCD TV to replace our age old CRT TV. We decided to get a reasonably high end TV as we would be using the TV almost all the time. According to our room size and viewing distance, we decided that around 37"-42" would be the ideal size.

We visited various showrooms and saw many brands and models. We dropped plasma TVs from our consideration as they had relatively lower resolution. The brands we were on the lookout were Samsung, Sony and LG. But we were also on the lookout for other brands too if they had reasonable performance.

After seeing almost all the available models, we concluded on the following things. The Samsung models were good value for money. They offered great features for their price. The cost/performance was just in the ideal ratio. The LG models offered the highest features for their price. And finally the Sony ones were the best looking due to the Bravia engine but were also considerably costlier.

As we were looking for a long term viewing experience with our TV, we decided to go with the best looking LCD though it may cost a bit more that the others. So we decided on the Sony bravia 40" full HD model. And we are quite happy with our purchase.
