Concerns about GPS tracking

So far GPS (Global Positioning System) has been a wonderful technology for travelers. Ever since it has become popular, GPS Tracking is being used in cars and such for domestic purposes and in several military applications. Recently, these devices have taken the form of miniature devices in some other concealable form and have been used to track other persons without their knowledge.

I have had a great time with my friends and family when we were in tour by allowing others to know our exact position in relative to them. I even like to track the position of my dog with GPS. But recently with these small devices, some have resorted to tracking the position of someone without their knowledge and I am totally against it as it intrudes their privacy. I have heard stories of married persons tracking the other’s location to determine whether they are cheating them or not. And these kinds of practices have been made by even employers and other such people.

For example have a look at the various GPS Tracking products available here. There are a lot of pocket sized GPS devices that one can use and carry easily for both GPS data logging and Real-time GPS tracking. While I feel great about these tiny devices and advancement of technology, I am also concerned a lot regarding intrusions in privacy and the possible criminal/illegal activities that can be possible with these GPS Tracking devices.
