Even though Google is gaining popularity all over the world, I think Yahoo still retains its position as No.1 in drawing the visitors to its site. As a proof if you see the top 10 traffic sites, the first one that comes is Yahoo followed by Gmail.
This clearly indicates that still Yahoo holds a commandable position in web services and maintains a remarkable position. The vital reasons for Yahoo being No:1 is due to its mail services and yahoo messenger. I think most of the internet users are having Yahoo mail account more than Gmail account. People use Yahoo messenger for audio and video, text chatting. While in the case of Google, even though Gmail and Gtalk are present, they havent yet reached every part of the world. In the competion that goes on between Google and Yahoo to be an Internet Gaint, Yahoo is facing a step back as there are no innovative schemes provided as of by Google. This is an added advantage for Google. It would be taking another few years for Google to grab the first position. If Yahoo doesnt take necessity measures then Google in short time would be the leader surpassing all other competitors.
